作家紹介
写真家であると共にキュレーターとしても知られているバーバーは、「Vice Magazine」のフォトエディターとして活躍後、ライアン・マッギンレー、アリ・マルコポロス等の人気写真家からニュージェネレーションの作家までが作品を寄稿するオンラインギャラリーとイメージアーカイブのサイト www.tinyvices.com を立ち上げ、その後のアート界に大きな影響を与えました。
バーバーが独特の鋭い審美眼で捉える、一見無造作な場面の中に混然と潜む繊細な美しさには、謎めいたナラティブな要素が織り込まれ、その主題はポートレイトからランドスケープまで多岐に渡ります。バーバーはファッション誌など商業分野でも活躍し、いまNYで最も勢いのあるフォトグラファーとして人気を集めています。
